Al Rashdiya Nursery
A permaculture backed plant nursery in Al Rashdiya, Baghdad. The project aims to be the first organic nursery in Iraq that concentrate on providing climate adaptive flowers and decorative plants for the landscaping industry
The Project
Our company embarked on a groundbreaking project to establish the first organic plant nursery in Baghdad and Iraq. Nestled among the historical date palm farms of Rashdiya, Baghdad, this location was chosen for its rich agricultural heritage and the abundance of water from the Tigris River. The nursery was developed with a strong emphasis on permaculture and regenerative agriculture principles.
The nursery now serves as a key supplier of flowers and decorative plants for our landscaping clients. By utilizing local resources and sustainable methods, we produce plants that are well-adapted to the local environment and capable of withstanding Iraq's harsh weather conditions. This ensures that our plants not only thrive but also contribute to the beautification of homes throughout the capital.
Our commitment to sustainability and quality has made this nursery a pioneering project in Iraq's agricultural sector. By implementing permaculture techniques, we have created a resilient and productive nursery that stands as a testament to the potential of organic farming practices in urban settings. Our dedication remains steadfast as we continue to be the first and only organic plant nursery in Baghdad, contributing to the local environment and community through sustainable agriculture.
