We treat land as a living system.

WHAT WE DO

We work with landowners and organizations who want their land to perform, to produce, to regenerate, and to grow stronger over time.

We design regenerative farms and food forest systems. We build them. We manage them. And when our clients want to run their land independently, we build them the operational infrastructure to do it.

What runs through everything is the same standard: every decision is grounded in evidence, every action is documented, every outcome is shared.

Mission:
Turning desolate deserts into bountiful lands that sustain life and hope. With every seed we plant and every tree we nurture, we're one step closer to creating green havens across Iraq and the Middle East.

HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

Most agricultural consultants promise outcomes they cannot control. We do not.

What we promise is the quality of our measurement, our documentation, and our analysis. That is what gives our clients the foundation to make decisions that hold up, over seasons, over years, over the lifetime of the land.

We do not work for clients. We work with them.

WHERE WE WORK

We are based in Baghdad and operate across Iraq. Our work is shaped by the conditions we know, saline soils, water scarcity, extreme heat, fragile ecologies, and by the regenerative principles that work in this context.

Iraq is where we built the system. It is where we prove it.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Land is a Living System

Soil biology, water cycles, plant guilds, and microclimate are connected. We design for the whole, not the parts.

01

Decisions must be grounded in evidence

No intuition, no guesswork. Every design and management choice is traceable to data or scientific principle.

02

Regenerative Systems improve over time

When designed correctly and managed consistently, your land becomes more productive, more resilient, and more biologically rich each year.

03

Managing Partner, Co-Founder

Maitham Haleem

From simple service jobs in Berlin’s restaurants to transforming deserts in Iraq, my journey has been one of humble beginnings and relentless pursuit of passion. I started my career in gastronomy while studying electrical engineering at TU Berlin. Realizing that engineering was not my true calling, I pivoted to business administration. This change led me to launch a variety of ventures, including a Yellow Pages-like project in Iraq, two media agencies, a construction company, an F&B business, and ultimately, The Food Forests.

My core principles are simple yet profound: treat people as you wish to be treated and leave places better than you found them. These beliefs align seamlessly with permaculture, a philosophy I discovered while supervising a construction site in southern Iraq. Witnessing the waste and pollution firsthand, I was inspired by a report on permaculture practices and decided to experiment in my own garden. Despite initial skepticism, the project flourished, confirming my belief in nature’s wisdom and the potential for regeneration.

Driven by the dream of reviving Iraq’s vast deserts and restoring the lush gardens of Mesopotamia, I embraced permaculture as my guiding philosophy. Simplicity, minimalism, and sustainable living are at the heart of my approach. Achieving self-sustainability is not just a goal; it’s a path to true freedom.

The journey is far from over, but with the dedication of a strong and passionate team, the dream of transforming Iraq’s deserts into vibrant, self-sustaining food forests feels within reach. I am immensely proud of the progress we have made together and look forward to the challenges and triumphs that lie ahead.
